Do you have curly hair? If you do, these simple tips will make your hair more healthy and manageable!
1. Don't use shampoo! Curly hair is already prone to dryness and shampoo just makes it worse! Mixing apple cider with water, and leaving in the hair for one minute, is an excellent clarifier that is natural. If you must use shampoo, make sure it is paraben and sulfate-free! Stick to conditioners and moisturizers! Co-wash is both a product and a method. I like Ms. Jessie's Cowash. You can buy it at Target, Wal-Mart or on Amazon!
2. Don't brush your hair! Use a wide-toothed comb to detangle your hair or you can use your fingers. Start from the ends to the roots and do that when it is wet!
3. Do not towel try! Towel drying frizzes your hair and it also damages it. You can use a cotton t-shirt, air-drying, or braid it before bed.
4. Rinse your hair with COLD water. Rinsing with cold water helps to eliminate frizz and seal in moisture!
5. Moisturize! Any type of olive oil, argan oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil, castor oil and the list goes on. After applying leave-in conditioner, seal the moisture in with a small amount of an essential oil, to seal in moisture.
Here are some natural, organic products lines that I recommend for curly hair they can be found at amazon, wal-mart or target... compare for the best prices and read reviews catering to your hair type!
